Generate Sales Order from Quotation

Navigation › Documents › Processing › Quotations
Note:  This article focuses on the simplest common use case for generating an unprocessed sales order from an existing quotation.

To generate an unprocessed sales order from a quotation, navigate to the relevant quotation.  Open it by double-clicking it in the list, or by selecting it and pressing Enter.

Opening the quotation displays its General tab.

General Tab

Confirm that the information on the General tab is correct.

You can update some of the fields, if required.  Once done, click the Quotation Details tab to continue.

Quotation Details Tab

The Quotation Details tab displays the inventory items and quantities originally added to the quotation.

Quotations can be either fully or partially processed when generating a sales order.  To partially process a quotation, update the Qty To Process column to reflect the quantities the customer wants to include in the sales order.

Note:  The ability to partially process a quotation depends on your system configuration.

To process the quotation in full, no changes to the item quantities are required.

Note:  The quantities in the Qty To Process column cannot be more than the quotation quantities.

Once all item quantities have been updated or verified, click Generate SO on the toolbar.

A popup appears, asking you to confirm the action.

Click Yes to confirm the sales order generation.  A confirmation popup appears, displaying the newly generated sequential sales order number.

Click OK to close the popup and return to the quotation.  Click the Processed Tab to display the generated sales orders for this quotation.

Processed Tab

The Processed tab displays the sales orders and invoices that have been generated from this quotation.  By default, the Sales Orders tab is displayed.

To open the sales order for viewing, double-click it in the list, or select it and press Enter.
